Cleansers for spots and a botanical cream deodorant
Today I thought it was time to write about a couple of cleansers for spots and a botanical cream deodorant I have been using.
I love trying new cosmetics but so often they fail to deliver. This time I have found a few things that did not cost the earth and yet are effective.
Having suffered from acne and spots for as long as I can remember I was thrilled when the beautiful Ashley posted in her blog amothersedit about the acne she suffered during pregnancy. I don’t mean I was thrilled she suffered the acne but that she found some products…you know what I mean!
The full article is a superb read and she explains far more about Glycolic Acid than I ever could. I highly recommend heading over and having a read. If you don’t already follow here Instagram then you should. Her fashion is spot on and she takes the most amazing photos. I definitely have blog envy.
It was during those hazy days between Chrismtas and New Year that I made my purchases. My cleansers had run out, and none had been forthcoming in my Christmas Stocking. Ashley recommended a brand I had never heard of : Peter Thomas Roth and it took a bit of finding online. I took the plunge and bought the anti aging cleansing gel which I use in an evening and the Glycolic Acid Facial Wash which I use in the shower in the morning. I have also been using the Pixi Glow Tonic which I picked up online and had delivered to my local M&S food
For about 5-7 days my skin was dry and I had a few flare up. There was some flaky skin which I wasn’t expecting. I use Retinol in the evening, so I stopped using that for a few days and I did some moisturising facial masks. After 10 days things calmed down. Two week later and I seem to have found the balance and I am delighted to be spot free. My moistuirsers are work in progress and I am on the search for the perfect serum. Let me know if you have any recommendations for those and eye creams!
After decades of searching I have found The Holy Grail of deodorant. It is natural. It is aluminum free. IT WORKS.
I have been using it for 3 weeks. It has seen me through a very stressful trip to London. I was wearing a silk blend polo neck and not only was there no smell, there were no marks either. It has not failed me during Pilates, the gym or a busy working day. Granted it is Winter and I have yet to put it to the test of a hot Summer day ( remind me what those are like again please).
Further testing to follow
Today I recommended it to my favourite PT and gym instructor. She has been looking for an aluminum free deodorant that works for years, however, given the work she does they have all let her down. She reckons she gets through £5 of deodorant every 2 weeks so if this tub can last her 8 weeks then she is going to be on a winner. I have only used a very small amount in 2 weeks but its early days and we
